So before i explain what this is about, this is what the letter says “Dirtbags, Screw you and your charity yardsale. Why dont you low life assholes take down your yard sale signs. You must think you live in mexico you slobs. We all know who the dirtbags are when they leave up their signs.” OKAY so, let me explain what this is all about. Me and my family have been having a yardsale every year since i was born to support the Cystic Fibrosis foundation, which is a lung disease that i was born with that causes me to be very sick all the time. Our whole family gathers every year to help out at this sale and we try to raise as much money as we can to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. We had the sale 2 weekends in a row, we made signs and put them up that read “Charity yardsale” and the date of when it is. We put the signs up last friday and the sale was the next day on saturday. We were also having the sale the next saturday so we left the signs up, and changed the dates on them to match the next saturdays date. This person i guess wasnt aware that the date had changed on the signs. But is that an excuse to call us low life assholes for doing a charity yardsale? For a disease that i have dealt with all of my life? Not ONLY were they insensitive towards this but they were also racist by stating that “we must think we live in Mexico”. Can anyone explain to me how someone can be this passionate about hurting my family when all we were doing was something to help save lives? All i can say is i hope this person never has to know what its like to have them or someone they love effected by a life threatening disease. Check this out guys this was sent to my house yesterday.This morning, an incredibly sweet, 80+ year-old woman who lives down the block walked to our house and rang the bell. When my dad answered the door, she was winded from walking up our front steps. She handed us a $10 bill, and said that she saw the yard sale signs and was sorry that she missed out. She wanted to donate money because she “knows how hard it is to have a sick child,” because her son had leukemia. She wished us the best of luck and went on her merry way back home.The dichotomy of man is startling, beautiful, and terrifying.
